FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince Manufacturing Announces Expansion

Hendersonville, NC – At a regularly scheduled Henderson County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, August 12th, a job and investment expansion was announced for Prince Manufacturing.  The project's scope is a capital investment in machinery and equipment of $650,000 and the creation of 28 new jobs in addition to the current 100 employees.

A public hearing considering incentives for the Prince Manufacturing project was held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 to consider economic development support of the competitive expansion.  At that time the Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to extend economic development assistance to encourage the project to take place in Henderson County, NC.

County Attorney, Russ Burrell, summarized the expansion and what Prince would qualify for in terms of assistance from Henderson County.  The support was outlined as up to $2,400 per year for a maximum of five (5) years provided Prince met the performance-based guidelines in the agreement. Southeast Region General Manager, Steve Floyd, was asked to address the Board of Commissioners, where he reiterated the company's commitment to the area and his interest in continuing to grow the business in Henderson County. Mr. Floyd mentioned that he just drove in from out-of-town in pursuit of additional business that could indeed continue this growth pattern. Mr. Floyd thanked the Board of Commissioners for their support of Prince Manufacturing and economic development efforts.

Chairman Bill Moyer asked that Mr. Floyd approach the Commissioners table and that they together sign the agreements. Following the signing of the agreements, Chairman Moyer thanked Mr. Floyd on the new business and job growth, and the audience and Board applauded in appreciation. At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Moyer stated, "this announcement is an excellent example of an existing industry providing quality job opportunities for citizens of Henderson County.  We were pleased to play a role in encouraging this expansion."
