Forest City, NC - The Rutherford County Economic Development Commission is pleased to announce the location of Icon Products into Rutherford County.  The company president is Kraig Miller.  Icon plans to hire 30-35 people initially with growth plans to hire in excess of two hundred people within eighteen months.

County Commission Chairman Chivous Bradley stated, "I am extremely pleased to announce the location of a new company in Rutherford County and the 30 to 35 jobs are very much needed in this community.  I am especially pleased the company will begin operations immediately and I am convinced they will find an excellent workforce from this county." 

This project will involve two main components.  The first is a distribution center that will be housed in 60,000 square feet of leased space.  They will receive container shipments of electrical supplies and materials and distribute those materials to customers throughout the United States.  This component of the project will become operational immediately and will employ five to ten people.    

The second component of the project is an inbound/outbound call center.  Sales of electrical supplies will take place to electrical contractors, building supply companies and other similar entities via a communication center.  The communication center component will initially employ twenty-five.

Tom Johnson with the Rutherford County Economic Development Commission indicated first contact was made regarding this project in January 2007, and he is extremely pleased the company has made a decision to locate in Rutherford County.
