To promote the green movement in Western North Carolina, Blue Ridge Community College will host four “Green Schools” in July: Whole Weatherization Training School, How to Lower your Business Energy Costs, How to Start a Green Business, How to Grow a Green Business and How Find a Green Job. These schools have limited seating and are offered at no charge due to our partners and an Economic Stimulus Grant: Planning and Entrepreneurship for a Clean Energy Future administered by Land-of-Sky Regional Council. 

The schools will be held at the new Blue Ridge Conference Hall located on the Flat Rock Campus of Blue Ridge Community College. To register or to get more information on the July 2009 Green Business Schools and the Green Business Alliance of Henderson County, individuals may contact Elaine with the Blue Ridge Small Business Center at (828) 694-1779 or elaineh@blueridge.edu. 

Partners for the July 2009 Green Schools include AdvantageWest Economic Development Group, Blue Ridge Community College, Blue Ridge Innovation Network, Duke Energy, Global Institute for Sustainability Technologies, Green Building Council, Land-of-Sky Regional Council, MountainBiz Works, Mountain Express, North Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity, North Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program and Waste Reduction Partners.
