AdvantageWest board meeting to take place Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

(FLETCHER, N.C.) February 10, 2010 – The Board of Directors of AdvantageWest Economic Development Group will meet on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., in room 2046 of the Small Business Center on the Enka campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, 1465 Sand Hill Rd., Suite 1060, in Candler.
Normally the meeting takes place at the AdvantageWest offices, adjacent to the Asheville Regional Airport, but due to construction on the roads around the AdvantageWest offices, the meeting is being relocated.
AdvantageWest is the regional economic development commission serving the 23 westernmost counties of North Carolina. Chartered by the state General Assembly in 1994, AdvantageWest is a nonprofit, public-private partnership. Meetings are open to the public. For more information, call (828) 687-7234.
AdvantageWest’s program of work includes the following: Blue Ridge Advanced Manufacturing Initiative; Blue Ridge Food Ventures, a food business and natural products incubator and commercial kitchen; the green-collar jobs initiative, AdvantageGreen; and entrepreneurial development activities such as Blue Ridge Entrepreneurial Council (BREC) and the Certified Entrepreneurial Community(SM).
