CASTING CALL TO BE HELD FOR THE MOTION PICTURE “ARTEMIS”
More than 1,000 adults will be needed during the course of filming
The WNC Film Commission announces an open casting calls for extras for the motion picture ARTEMIS on May 3, 4 to 7 p.m., at Cleveland Mall, in Shelby, and May 5, 4 to 7 p.m., at Blue Ridge Mall, in Hendersonville. Cleveland Mall is located off Hwy. 74, at 2001-53 E. Dixon Blvd. Blue Ridge Mall is located at 1800 Four Seasons Blvd. (Exit 49B off I-26).
ARTEMIS will be directed by Gary Ross (of projects such as Seabiscuit, Pleasantville and Big). The major studio production, to be produced by Nina Jacobson (Diary of a Wimpy Kid 1 & 2) and Jon Kilik (Babel, He Got Game), will have an Oscar nominated cast.
Extras Casting Coordinator Tona Dahlquist (Leatherheads, Dear John, Forrest Gump, and the new Showtime series Homeland) said more than 1,000 adults will be needed to work as background extras during the course of filming. All types and all ages, 18-80, will be needed, males and females, short and tall, all ethnic backgrounds, “the guys at the barbershop, the lady down the street, the hard working guy and gal and/or those that appear they live the easy life.”
“I am hoping to find some adults with great faces such as those that attended casting calls in the past for Leatherheads and ‘3’ The Dale Earnhardt Story” stated Dahlquist. She is also seeking:
*Farmer, factory worker and/or coal miner types, ages 18-80.
*Adult women ages 18-80; slender to average frame; light brown, dark brown, black or grey hair
*Adult men of slender to average frame, ages 18-80.
*Males and females that could resemble/portray those of Depression Era.
*Man with a handlebar mustache or unique/unusual facial hair.
*Military types; ages 20-50; height 6’2” who wear a size 42 Jacket.
Filming will occur May thru August in various areas of North Carolina. All background will be paid and should be available to work multiple days. The only youths to be seen at this casting call are those ages 10-17 of slender frame with brown hair that could resemble/portray those of Depression Era. All must be available to work 2-6 days.
Those interested in applying must bring a non-returnable, current snapshot of themselves. Photos can be a basic snapshot printed off a computer on paper.

Though attending the casting call in person is preferred, those interested in applying but are unable to attend the casting call can apply by mail or email. Submit online at artemiscasting@gmail.com. Mail to: ARTEMIS EXTRAS, 366 George W. Liles Pkwy NW #51, Concord, NC 28027. All email and mail-in submissions should include a head/shoulders photo as well as a full length photo. Applicants should include their name, age, phone, email, city and state in which they reside, height/weight, hair and eye color, and availability to work. Also include clothing sizes: dress, pants, top, shoes (women); jacket, pants (waist/inseam), shirt (neck/sleeve), shoe, hat (men).
